INVERNESS GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Gardens & glasshouses / INVERNESS

Inverness Botanic Gardens

The gardens at Bught offer a change of scene from the city’s stone buildings: outdoor planting, a tropical house and a cactus house bring different growing worlds into one compact visit. Come to look closely at leaves, shapes and seasonal colour, then pause for refreshments if the café is open.

Before you go

Do not assume the glasshouses make every part accessible or fully indoors. The tropical and cactus houses have split levels reached by steps, while garden paths include varied and uneven surfaces.
