Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness
Urquhart’s ruined walls and tower put you on the shore of Loch Ness, with the water and opposing hills forming part of the experience. Choose this as a dedicated excursion from Inverness, leaving enough time for the visitor centre, the descent to the ruins and a quiet look across the loch. It is a different visit from the modern Inverness Castle Experience.
Book admission and add parking before checkout if driving. The operator says online sell-outs mean no extra tickets at the castle, and parking is only guaranteed when reserved.

- Reserve a dated entry slot and any parking. Check winter closing and return transport before choosing admission time. From Inverness use a separate road/bus journey; this guide does not promise a cruise or boat landing with ordinary entry.
- Access and getting around
- Steep surfaced ramps and paths connect the visitor centre and castle. Grant Tower, Watergate and parts of the early ruins involve steps. An adapted toilet is provided; loan mobility equipment is first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved.

- Allow extra time for slopes and supervise children around historic edges and the loch. The castle cannot store pushchairs or luggage; check bag restrictions and what you can manage on the route.
