An artist’s house and a town castle →
A seasonal cultural day with the castle kept optional.
An artist’s home, studio and riverside garden / KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Explore E A Hornel’s home and working world, then leave time for the garden if conditions suit. The house brings art, collecting and domestic rooms together, giving a different experience from a conventional gallery. Its compact town location makes lunch and a harbour walk easy additions, but the seasonal opening and historic access need checking first.

The house is closed on Tuesdays during the open season, while the garden has separate access that day. Both close for winter.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1½–2 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
