Rudyard by miniature train and shore path →
An outing for a confirmed railway running day with a short walk kept optional.
A shorter shore walk or a planned lakeside outing / NEAR LEEK
Choose a short waterside walk at Rudyard when you want to leave Leek’s streets for a more open setting. The east-side former railway path lets you enjoy part of the lake without committing to the full circuit. Pause when the view changes and turn back while you still have energy; a picnic can be a better finish than another mile.

The complete circuit is around five to five-and-a-half miles and the west side includes rougher, narrower ground. It is not a level all-round pushchair route. Swimming is not permitted.

Allow 1–2 hours for a short visit for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
