Lincoln’s lower city gathers around the Brayford Pool, where boats, university buildings and former industrial spaces change the view from the hilltop monuments. Follow a short waterfront stretch and use the architecture trail boards to look at how the area has changed. Access and getting around: Select a waterfront route using the official area information and confirm individual venue access. This guide does not certify the full pool circuit as step-free; bridges, crossings and onward paths need their own checks.

Visiting with children: Stay close to younger children beside water. A brief boat-spotting walk can be enough after a museum; the longer Water Rail Way is a separate outing, not part of this short route.
