Llangollen Railway

Start at the riverside station in Llangollen for a journey along the Dee Valley towards Corwen. Steam, diesel and heritage railcars run on different dates, so the journey and landscape are the reliable reason to choose it rather than one promised locomotive. Make this the main outing and leave time for a meal before or after travelling.

Tickets and booking: Buy through the railway or at the station subject to availability. Check the actual dated timetable: the main season runs roughly mid-February to early November, with separate winter specials. Locomotives can change and special-event tickets have their own terms.
Access and getting around: Arrange wheelchair travel in advance: adapted spaces are limited and not offered on every service. Llangollen and Corwen have accessible station routes; Berwyn does not have step-free access. Llangollen has an accessible toilet and baby changing. Confirm the boarding assistance and return service together.

Visiting with children: Bring a collapsible pushchair because storage is limited, or consider a suitable carrier.
