Weaver’s Cottage in Kilbarchan

Make a separate trip to Kilbarchan to explore a historic weaving cottage and its small garden. It offers a useful change from Lochwinnoch’s outdoor landscapes, connecting the area with a working craft and the scale of domestic life. Check the seasonal opening days and physical access before making it the main reason for the journey.

The practical details

Where to find it
The Cross, Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire PA10 2JG
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Ordinary cottage and garden admission is paid, with member arrangements separate. Advance booking is not normally required. Current 2026 opening runs Thursday–Sunday until 1 November, with last entry before closing; check the operator’s calendar before setting out.
Access and getting around
Two entrance steps, uneven floors, winding stairs and low ceilings make access difficult. The garden slopes and has narrow gravel paths. Contact the National Trust for Scotland about the exact areas you can use; do not assume the cottage is a step-free rainy-day alternative.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Choose a short visit that follows children’s interest in the loom, objects and garden. Ask about current family activities, supervise carefully on stairs and allow room around the historic interiors.

Practical information checked 16 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 45–90 minutes plus the separate journey for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
