Harmony and Priorwood gardens
Pair the open lawns and borders of Harmony with the smaller orchard and planting at Priorwood. They make an easy change of pace between the town’s historic attractions, with enough contrast to enjoy both without setting aside a whole day. Their proximity to the abbey makes them useful pauses rather than another long transfer.
Before you go
Both gardens have a winter closure. Their free admission does not make them a year-round fallback, and the associated houses are not included as open interiors.

- Ordinary entry is free with suggested donations. Current opening is daily 10:00–17:00 through 31 October, with both closed 1 November–28 February 2027. Recheck spring dates and any events.
- Access and getting around
- Harmony has level gravel paths; avoiding steps can involve crossing lawns. Priorwood has ramp access and gravel or grass surfaces. Wet ground can affect ease of movement. Public toilets are separate from the gardens.

- Choose a short look at plants, orchard trees or the shapes of leaves, then stop before attention fades. Respect planted beds and bee areas; these are gardens rather than a ball-game park.
