A green afternoon after town →
Let the country park be the main afternoon rather than trying to combine every park. Choose the entrance, facilities and route before leaving the centre.
Lakeside paths and a longer outdoor break / MELTON MOWBRAY
Choose the country park when you want the green space to be the main part of the day. Lakes, open ground and a choice of paths give you more room to wander than the central town parks. Set a manageable route around your group’s energy, with time for a waterside pause or play rather than a target to cover the whole site.

Choose an entrance for the part of the park you want to reach. The visitor centre and facilities are near Wymondham Way; reaching an edge of the park is not the same as reaching the café or play area.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1½–3 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
