External renovation is taking place in 2026–27, but the operator says the museum and gallery remain open. Follow the current entrance arrangements rather than an older route description.

Tickets and booking: Adult admission applies. Tickets are available on arrival. Winter opening excludes Mondays and bank holidays; summer hours differ. Check current renovation and holiday notices.
Access and getting around: Ground-floor galleries are accessible; basement access uses a staff-operated lift and includes uneven levels. Visitors with limited mobility currently enter through the courtyard. Confirm assistance and Blue Badge arrangements before arrival.

Visiting with children: Under-16s have free admission but must visit with someone over 16. Allow a limited gallery visit and a break; free child admission does not make the whole family visit free.
