- Public walking requires no attraction ticket. Check current notices at this operational site and follow the reservoir byelaws. The operator lists toilets open 9am-6pm; confirm facilities before relying on them.
- Access and getting around
- The waterside paths are broadly level but can be muddy, while the approach from town climbs. Operational works may temporarily close sections. On-site vehicle access is for Blue Badge holders; general parking is at Drumclog on Mugdock Road.

- Keep children away from the water edge and make the engineering features a spotting activity. Set a turnaround before beginning and use the operator-listed toilets during their opening hours.
