MOLD GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

A performance to build the day around / MOLD

Theatr Clwyd

Choose a play, film or other programmed event at the theatre above Mold, then give it enough time to be the main occasion. The redeveloped building also offers food and views, but a performance needs its own ticket and start-time plan. A matinee can shape an afternoon, while an evening show leaves the town and a meal earlier in the day. The photograph shows the theatre before its recent redevelopment.

Before you go

Read the current travel directions: the road directly in front of the theatre is permanently closed after redevelopment. Allow time for the revised parking approach and the walk to your seat.

The practical details

Where to find it
Raikes Lane, Mold CH7 1YA
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Book the actual event and check its time, duration and seating. Food bookings are separate and restaurant visits do not require show tickets. Check current building access rather than assuming a performance is available whenever the foyer opens.
Access and getting around
Book appropriate wheelchair spaces or assistance with the theatre. Accessible toilets and designated parking are available, with an accessible drop-off arranged through the box office. Mobility scooters cannot be used as theatre seats; consult the access guide about transfers and loan wheelchairs.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Choose an event with a suitable age recommendation and running time. A family-friendly building does not make every play or film appropriate for children; check content notes, intervals and any relaxed performance arrangements.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 2–3 hours, depending on the event for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
