Woodland walks with traces of estate history / MOTHERWELL
Choose a waymarked woodland route through Dalzell Estate, looking for the contrast between planted landscape, old trees and surviving estate features. The Japanese Garden is part of an active restoration effort, so enjoy the setting without expecting every section to be finished or available. Dalzell House provides historic context but is not offered here as a public house-interior attraction.

Select one suitable loop rather than trying to visit every historic feature. Wet ground and restoration work may change the best route.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1–2 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
