A waterside walk through the town / NEWBURY
Follow a short waterside section to see Newbury from a quieter angle. The Wharf and Newbury Lock make useful points of interest, while the West Mills direction gives an alternative to browsing the main shopping streets. Choose a turnaround point that leaves time for lunch; enjoying the canal does not require committing to a long-distance trail.

Decide which direction to walk before setting out and return before the group is tired. The route towards Victoria Park and the route through West Mills offer different short outings; distant places on the canal are not quick additions.
