Abington Park and Museum

Combine open-air time in Abington Park with the museum inside its historic manor house when the calendar allows. The park can carry the outing on its own, while the museum adds rooms, local stories and changing exhibitions. It is a different part of Northampton from the compact central museum-and-theatre area.

Before you go

The museum normally opens at weekends and on additional school-holiday days. Do not assume a weekday park visit includes access to the house, and check upper-floor access before making it the main attraction.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary park and museum entry is free. Confirm the museum’s weekend/holiday calendar; events, refreshments and sports can cost separately. Check local parking restrictions rather than assuming a space will be available.
Access and getting around: The museum has a level entrance and accessible ground-floor galleries, but no lift and changes of floor level. Check the park route and current facilities separately; accessibility in one area does not cover the whole outing.
