Tickets and booking: Free entry, donations welcome. The centre lists seven-day 10am–4pm opening, while SAMS lists seasonal weekdays and a winter closure. Call 01631 559123 to confirm your date and café availability before travel. Groups should arrange their visit in advance.
Access and getting around: Contact the centre about the entrance, toilets and any sensory or mobility support you need. The adjacent shore is an outdoor addition, with different surfaces from the exhibitions. School workshops and access to research facilities require separate arrangements.

Visiting with children: Use the interactive exhibits and short science films at the children’s pace. A few engaging experiments can be enough; visiting the neighbouring castle is optional rather than a necessary part of the experience.
