Oundle heritage trail and historic streets

Use the council’s heritage trail to notice the details that give Oundle its character: old market buildings, shopfronts, gateways and school architecture. Pick a short section around the centre or follow more of the mapped trail, with time to look up from the guide and stop for lunch.

The trail describes many working, residential and school buildings. View them from public routes and do not treat a map marker as permission to enter private grounds.

Tickets and booking: The council provides an online map and printable trail. No ticket is needed for ordinary public streets; shops, refreshments, interiors and organised tours are separate.
Access and getting around: This is a public-street walk with crossings and older surfaces. Use the map to choose a manageable section and allow for traffic, narrow pavements and any current works.

Visiting with children: Make it a short search for building details rather than reading every stop aloud. Break for food or park time when children have had enough of streets.
