Give the larger park the main share of the day, with a central garden only if it fits the journey.
A larger park outing with a pond and walled garden / PAISLEY
Choose Barshaw for a more generous stretch outdoors than a quick central garden stop. The pond, paths and walled garden offer several ways to keep the visit relaxed, while families can base their outing on outdoor play. It lies east of the centre, so allow for the journey rather than treating it as part of the Abbey’s doorstep.

Pick a route that suits the group and leave other features optional. Do not build the outing around a miniature-railway ride or organised activity without checking current operation.
Practical information checked 16 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1–2 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
