Build a four-to-five-hour outing around the actual show time and running length. Check that the garden is open and the performance uses an indoor venue.
Plays and performances beside the river / PITLOCHRY
Pitlochry Festival Theatre
The theatre gives Pitlochry a reason to linger into the afternoon or evening. Pick a production that interests you and allow the performance to set the day’s pace, with food and a short river-side pause around it. Its Port-na-Craig setting feels separate from the main shopping street without requiring a long journey out of town.

Before you go
Check whether your event is in the Main Auditorium, Studio or an outdoor space. A theatre-site booking is not automatically an indoor performance.
The practical details
- Where to find it
- Port-na-Craig Road, Pitlochry PH16 5DR, across the Tummel from the town centre.
Directions and arrival information ↗ - Tickets and booking
- Book seats for the exact performance and confirm the venue. Reserve any pre-show food separately and allow extra time for busy parking. The theatre recommends advance taxi booking around performances; check your last train or onward journey before choosing an evening show.
- Access and getting around
- Level access connects the car park, foyer, Main Auditorium and Studio. Wheelchair places are limited and should be booked with the box office; accessible toilets and baby changing are on the ground floor. Hearing support and accessible performances depend on the service or date selected.
Official access information ↗ - Visiting with children
- Choose the production’s actual age guidance, running time and content rather than assuming every show suits children. Relaxed, captioned, BSL-interpreted and audio-described performances have specific dates. Leave time for toilets and settling in before the start.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Make it part of your day
Allow performance running time plus 30 minutes for arrival for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
