Margam Country Park

Give Margam enough time to be the main outing rather than a quick castle photograph. Choose a route through the gardens and estate, with a picnic or café break and time for the play or farm areas that interest your group. The castle is a striking backdrop, but a park visit should not be planned as unrestricted access to a furnished mansion.

Check the events calendar before travelling: ordinary park entry is free, but some special events charge admission. Paid activities and parking are separate.

Tickets and booking: General entry is free on ordinary days, with paid parking and possible event admission. Current autumn/winter hours close earlier than summer; check last entry and individual facilities before travel.
Access and getting around: Use the park’s accessibility information to choose an appropriate route across a large, varied estate. Blue Badge parking arrangements and mobility equipment should be confirmed in advance; gardens and hill paths do not have identical access.

Visiting with children: Fairytale Village is designed for younger children, with other play and farm interests available. Check individual opening times and do not feed or touch the animals.
