Rest Bay

Choose Rest Bay for time on the sand, coastal views and a short walk that can be as modest as you need. The watersports centre gives the beach a useful base for facilities, but an ordinary beach visit does not require booking a lesson. Check the tide and conditions first so the plan matches the amount of beach available.

Before you go

Check current lifeguard dates and flags on arrival rather than relying on a generic summer description. Keep clear of rough water and choose a land-based visit when conditions are unsuitable.

Access and getting around: The watersports centre lists a beach wheelchair; contact it about availability and suitability. Access to sand varies with tide and conditions, and is different from staying on the surfaced approaches.
