Begin with the cathedral during visitor access and decide separately whether to book the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library exhibition. Take lunch before choosing the Old House or a modest riverside walk. If the map exhibition is essential, check its current notices and calendar before travel, rather than relying on cathedral opening alone. For a shorter day, retain one cathedral visit and lunch. Save a specialist museum or evening show for time you can give it properly.
Family interest and a day for two
Match children’s interests to a manageable visit rather than assuming every old building will hold attention. Waterworks operating days and the museum’s mixed indoor/outdoor setting need checking; Ledbury’s small venues can suit shorter bursts of looking. Couples could build a day around the medieval map, cider-making history or one Ledbury heritage visit with a meal. Eastnor adds gardens and play on open dates, but routes, admission and travel make it a larger commitment.
