Ripon Cathedral
Explore a working cathedral with medieval architecture, carved details and an Anglo-Saxon crypt beneath it. The main interior rewards a slow look even if the narrow crypt route does not suit you. - General entry is free with donations welcomed. Sunday sightseeing begins later, and services or special events can restrict access. Guided tours and events have their own arrangements; the cathedral asks photographers to obtain a permit. Groups should contact the team in advance.
- Access and getting around
- The main entrance has level access and an automatic door, with seating inside and some uneven floors. The crypt has stairs and a narrow passage; a virtual alternative is available. The Library and Treasury require stairs with no lift. Check any specific access or parking needs ahead.

- Ask the welcome team for a suitable trail and focus on a few details rather than expecting children to study the whole building. The crypt is optional; consider the confined route and respect people using the cathedral for prayer.
