Rye Castle Museum: East Street
This separate museum explores the working town through pottery, shipbuilding, hop picking and other local trades. Its smaller objects and everyday stories complement the castle’s fortifications and prison cells. It is a useful free indoor stop near the High Street, especially if you prefer a single-level gallery to climbing the tower.
Do not confuse this site with the seven-day tower operation. East Street normally opens on weekends from April to October, with volunteer availability affecting visits.
