Head to Churchtown for a different park setting, with planting, trees and a lake that reward a slower circuit. Bring time for a pause rather than treating it as a quick stop on the way between central attractions. The nearby village streets can add a separate food break when businesses are open.

The council has announced closure of the aviary, despite older facilities lists still mentioning it. Plan for the gardens and play space, not an animal attraction.
