SOUTHPORT GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Art, Egypt and the coast’s stories / SOUTHPORT

The Atkinson museum and galleries

Make time for the museum and galleries on Lord Street, choosing from local history, ancient Egypt and the current art displays. The collection gives a cultural focus to a Southport day without requiring a theatre ticket. Pick the subjects that interest you rather than treating every room as a checklist.

Before you go

The museum and galleries are closed on Sundays and bank holidays. A ticketed evening performance does not mean daytime exhibitions are open late.
