Southwell Minster
Give the Chapter House carvings time rather than treating the Minster only as an impressive building to photograph. The foliage known as the Leaves of Southwell rewards a close look, while the nave offers a different sense of scale and stillness. This is a working cathedral: make room for worship and choose a few details that interest you instead of trying to absorb every part in one visit.

General entry is free with a suggested donation. Check services and closure notices before planning access to the Chapter House or adding a separately arranged tour.

- Ordinary admission is free and donations help maintain the building. Guided tours, tower visits and events need their own checks or booking. Worship and special events may restrict sightseeing in particular areas.
- Access and getting around
- The Minster lists a lift to the Chapter House, electronically operated north and south doors and hearing support. The Historic Library is an exception to wheelchair access. Ask staff about the route you need; tower visits have separate requirements.

- Ask at the welcome desk about the resources available for children. Choose a short search for shapes and carved leaves, then leave time to play outside elsewhere; keep voices considerate during worship.
