Dunnottar Castle and a harbour afternoon →
An outdoor castle visit followed by a slower town meal and walk.
A town walk beside the water / STONEHAVEN
Link a chosen stretch of beach boardwalk with the old harbour and Shorehead for an unhurried introduction to Stonehaven. The working waterside, old buildings and sea views give the walk enough interest without a long checklist. Add a meal or a visit to the Tolbooth when it is open, and leave the distance flexible in coastal wind.

Choose your turnaround before starting, particularly if you are returning to the same car park or station. A promenade stroll does not require continuing onto the cliff path.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
