Tenby North Beach
Goscar Rock rises from the sand beneath Tenby’s cliff-backed promenade, with the harbour and town forming the familiar view at the southern end. North Beach suits a short seaside pause that stays close to the old town. Let the tide decide how much beach walking is practical and keep time for the climb back to street level.
Check the RNLI’s current patrol dates rather than assuming lifeguards are present because it is a popular beach. Beach space changes with the tide; return by a known open exit instead of rounding rocks as the water rises.

- The beach has no admission charge. Check the current tide, weather, beach notices and lifeguard information. Seasonal dog restrictions apply; check the council’s beach rules for your visit. Food, parking and equipment are extra.
- Access and getting around
- The National Park records a concrete access ramp that is steep, around 1:7 to 1:6 over 25 metres. Sand is a further barrier. An access ramp does not make the whole beach independently wheelchair accessible.

- Plan sand play and rest time around the weather and tide. Supervise children near water and rocks. If swimming, use current RNLI guidance and the red-and-yellow flagged area when staffed; patrols are seasonal.
