Abbey Park and Meadows
Walk through the public gardens and open lawns behind Torquay’s seafront for a quieter pause between the station, beach and harbour. Planting, seating and picnic space make this an easy outdoor part of a day without buying a museum ticket. Keep the route short if you have already spent a morning inside Torre Abbey.
The free park is separate from paid Torre Abbey admission and its enclosed gardens. Sports, mini golf, special events and café purchases are not included simply because the lawns are public.

- No booking for an ordinary walk through the public park. Events can change available space, and leisure facilities have their own fees and hours. The abbey’s development project is not a promise of new public facilities already open.
- Access and getting around
- Choose the public paths for a firmer route; lawns can be wet and individual garden sections may have changes in level. Use designated crossings for the seafront road and follow any event or maintenance diversions.

- Useful for a picnic or a pause between paid visits. Keep children away from ponds and roads and leave room for other park users. Check individual leisure facilities before promising a paid activity or playground-style visit.
