Tickets and booking: No booking for the public Downs. Food, parking, theatre performances and the cliff railway are separate purchases. Use daylight and appropriate weather; advertised events are not everyday features of the promenade.
Access and getting around: The clifftop promenade offers a shorter option than the steep beach descents, but approaches from Torquay harbour involve a substantial climb. Consider a bus or taxi to Babbacombe. Check local paths and surfaces for your needs; avoid exposed edges in strong wind.

Visiting with children: Keep children close on the cliff side. A short lookout stop and lunch may be enough after the model village. Do not promise a beach descent or cliff-railway ride without checking operation and return arrangements separately.
