Torquay Harbour and Princess Pier
Follow the public waterfront around Torquay Harbour, then add a short section of Princess Pier for views across the bay when conditions allow. Boats and the surrounding town give the walk interest without a ticket. It is the natural central stop for a first visit, with food options nearby and room to shorten the route.
Princess Pier is the public promenade suggestion; Haldon Pier and marina pontoons include working or controlled areas. Respect barriers and do not treat every waterside structure as a public walking route.

- No ticket for the public waterfront. The optional Viator link selects a 90 Minute Coastal Explorer departing from MDL Torquay Marina, despite appearing in a Devon catalogue. Check exact meeting instructions, weather cancellation and individual suitability before booking.
- Access and getting around
- Public waterfront sections allow a flexible short walk, but surfaces, crossings and edge protection vary. The pier is exposed; skip it in rough weather. Marina boat boarding is a separate access question and is not covered by the ability to walk along the shore.
