Troon beach and promenade
Follow the promenade beside Troon’s sandy shore, choosing a short central stretch or a longer walk according to the weather. The beach park and town refreshments make it easy to pause. Views towards Arran provide the backdrop; a look towards the working harbour can add variety without turning the visit into a fixed-distance march.
Before you go
The harbour and marina are working places. Remain in public areas and respect gates, vehicle movements and private pontoons; a coastal walk does not include access to boats or club facilities.

- Ordinary beach and promenade access is free. Parking, refreshments and organised activities are separate. Use current signs and council information for facilities; do not rely on all toilets or cafés being open throughout the year.
- Access and getting around
- The promenade offers firmer surfaces than the beach, but check the approach, crossings and temporary works for your route. Sand can be difficult for wheeled mobility aids. Coastal wind can change the comfort of an otherwise straightforward walk.

- Choose sand play, the beach park or a short promenade stretch, with close supervision near water and roads. Check tides, weather and current bathing-water information rather than assuming conditions are safe for paddling.
