Time with rescued donkeys / NEAR VENTNOR

Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Make the sanctuary a separate outing to spend time watching its rescued donkeys and other equines. Walk at the animals’ pace, read their stories and leave room for a picnic or café break. This is a welfare setting, so a good visit is about observation and care rather than expecting rides or unrestricted feeding.

Before you go

Do not feed the animals, including with grass. Follow staff instructions, wash hands after contact and keep food out of the barns.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary entry and parking are free and small family groups do not normally need to book. Check opening before travel; optional experiences, refreshments and donations are separate. Arrange the transfer from Ventnor.
Access and getting around: The operator provides disabled parking and an online layout map. Ask about current paths, barn access and facilities for your equipment before visiting; outdoor ground conditions can vary.

Visiting with children: Allow time to watch quietly and follow staff guidance about interaction. Ordinary admission is different from any booked donkey experience; check age and access requirements for those separately.
