WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

A small train journey into the countryside / WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA

Wells & Walsingham Light Railway

This narrow-gauge railway heads inland from the edge of Wells to Walsingham, covering four miles of countryside rather than the route to the beach. The ride is the main pleasure: a compact train, changing views and time away from the harbour crowds. Take a return journey on its own or leave room for a village break if the timetable permits.

Before you go

Individual tickets are sold on arrival and seats are first come, first served. Check the return timetable before getting off at Walsingham; a return ticket does not reserve a seat on a particular train.
