Whitstable Castle and Gardens
These gardens above Whitstable’s eastern waterfront combine lawns, planting and a children’s play area around the castle building. They make a useful pause between the harbour and Tankerton, with café service subject to its separate opening pattern.
Treat this as a garden visit; do not assume every interior room is open around private events.

- Gardens have free entry. Check current gate times and event closures. The kitchen closes Mondays. Free parking is limited to three hours and requires registration at reception or the Orangery within 20 minutes.
- Access and getting around
- The castle lists wheelchair-accessible entrances and paths, accessible toilets, nearby Blue Badge spaces and seating. Gradients and garden surfaces still vary.

- The play area has a pirate ship and climbing equipment. A supervising adult should remain; allow a snack break before continuing to Tankerton.
