Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum
The Victorian gallery near Foregate Street is a good starting point for Worcester’s civic story. The free Your Worcester display draws connections between objects and the people who made the city, while changing art exhibitions offer a different reason to return. Give yourself permission to focus on one subject. The attractive building and balcony café make a modest museum visit feel like a complete morning.
Check the price of the exhibition you want: general museum admission is free, but selected art exhibitions are ticketed. The current Reflections exhibition is a paid extra.

- Free core displays; separately priced exhibitions and events vary. Open Tuesday–Sunday, closed Mondays and bank holidays. The historic chemist’s shop opens on selected dates, usually the first Friday, rather than every museum day. Future galleries are being developed; check what is currently on view.
- Access and getting around
- Use the Taylor’s Lane entrance for level access and the lift to the galleries; the front entrance has steps. The operator lists an accessible toilet, baby changing, induction loop and loan wheelchair. Improvements continue through 2027, so check notices if a particular facility or gallery is essential.

- Choose a few objects in Your Worcester and ask about the current family trail rather than expecting every temporary show to appeal to all ages. Workshops and activities can cost extra. The café provides a useful seated break but closes before the museum.
