Charles Wade’s collection in a hillside setting / NEAR BROADWAY

Snowshill Manor and Garden

Travel to nearby Snowshill for a manor filled with objects chosen by Charles Wade for their craft and character, alongside a garden arranged as outdoor rooms. The collection and setting deserve an unhurried visit. Give this its own half-day from Broadway, including the journey and the hilly approach from visitor reception.

Before you go

Manor entry windows are allocated at reception, subject to availability. Arrive with time to enjoy the garden around your slot, and check the current room-opening notice rather than assuming every floor is accessible that day.

The practical details

Where to find it
Snowshill, near Broadway, Gloucestershire WR12 7JU
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Ordinary non-member admission is paid; check membership and current entry arrangements. On busy days manor slots can run out. Seasonal hours shorten in late October and November, and rooms may close. Snowshill is outside Broadway: arrange a road journey and return rather than relying on a bus stopping at the door.
Access and getting around
The manor is reached by an undulating roughly 500-yard path; a volunteer-operated buggy is subject to availability. A portable ramp can be requested at the three entrance steps. Wheelchair access is limited to three ground-floor rooms, with other rooms stepped; only a small part of the formal garden is wheelchair accessible.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Pushchairs, powered mobility vehicles, backpacks and back child-carriers cannot enter the manor. Large bags must return to the car, so organise what you need before the hilly approach. Dim rooms may suit a shorter visit; sensory bags and a quiet space can be requested. Under-fives enter free.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 2½–3½ hours, plus travel for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
