For a shorter alternative, choose whichever museum interests you most and end after the meal. If it is a Monday, the design museum is not your fallback; check Broadway Museum’s actual opening before setting off. Sunday plans also need care because published hours differ between some pages. The heritage railway can suit a pre-planned wet-weather outing, with around an hour each way on the full line. It is not a frequent shuttle that can be picked up whenever a shower starts.
