Kettle’s Yard

A visit to the former home of Jim and Helen Ede brings paintings, sculpture and everyday objects into a domestic setting. Choose the house if you enjoy the relationship between art, light and rooms; the separate exhibition galleries offer a different, changing encounter. It rewards an unhurried visit at the northern end of the centre.

House admission and exhibition admission are separate bookings. Reserve the house slot you want, arrive a little early and travel with minimal bags; the house cannot accommodate buggies.

Tickets and booking: Timed house tickets have charges and concessions; temporary exhibitions are free with a separate ticket. Closed Mondays, including bank holidays. Closed for a private event on 18 September 2026: choose another day.
Access and getting around: The ground-floor exhibition galleries are wheelchair accessible, but the house and café are not fully accessible. Use the detailed access page to choose between them before booking.

Visiting with children: A considered choice for children who enjoy looking at art in rooms. The house is unsuitable for buggies and children aged 12 and under must be accompanied; ask about access resources if useful.
