Peace Bridge and Ebrington Square

Walk across the curving pedestrian and cycle bridge to experience the river and the city from another angle. Ebrington Square gives the crossing a useful destination, with its public space and surrounding buildings. Treat it as a river walk rather than a promise that every venue or event on the far bank is open.

Before you go

Plan the return as well as the crossing. Wind, an event crowd or a tired group can make an out-and-back bridge visit enough without adding a longer riverside circuit.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary bridge and public-square access is free. Performances, exhibitions, food and other venues can have their own tickets or opening hours. Temporary event controls may alter the usual route.
Access and getting around: The bridge is shared by walkers and cyclists. Allow room for other users and check the appropriate approach from your arrival point if gradients or mobility matter. Venue access and facilities in Ebrington are separate arrangements.

Visiting with children: The crossing can offer a clear destination for a shorter family walk. Keep children close on the shared route and near the river, and consider the exposed weather before setting off.
