The pink house on Maygate offers a distinctive place to pause between Dunfermline’s museums and abbey. Its ground-floor coffee shop, artisan shopping and booked creative sessions give the building a present-day use. Tickets and booking: Coffee, food, purchases and most workshops cost separately. The café is normally closed Mondays and takes walk-ins rather than table reservations; the gift shop has a different weekly pattern. Occasional heritage open days may be free or donation-based. Confirm a specific advertised opening to see rooms beyond the ordinary public areas.
Access and getting around: Upper floors are reached by narrow spiral stairs. The ground floor has two levels connected internally by five steps, with separate level approaches to each. The café can be approached through rear garden doors. Check the exact room and entrance for a booked session; access to one room does not mean access throughout.
