Elgin Museum in Miniature
Visit the museum’s current compact display in its Side Hall, where selected collection highlights provide an introduction to Moray’s past and natural history. This is a smaller experience than the usual main museum galleries: building problems have changed what visitors can see. Give the displays a focused visit and use the rest of the afternoon for a town walk or park break. The photograph shows the museum exterior; current visits use the Side Hall rather than the main galleries.

The current opening pattern is Friday to Monday, 1–4pm. Check before travelling because the temporary arrangement may change.

- Entry to the current display is free. Ordinary main-building visits and appointments are not currently available because of building issues; check the operator’s latest notice.
- Access and getting around
- The Side Hall has shallow ramped access, wide double doors and wooden flooring. Its toilet is not wheelchair accessible; the operator describes an ambulant-accessible toilet in the main building. Ask about any essential requirements.

- Under-sixteens need a responsible adult. Treat this as a short visit to selected objects rather than promising children a large museum or all the usual galleries.
