Elgin town walk

Explore the centre on foot, using the local town route to connect streets and historic landmarks at your own pace. Look at the changing scale of the buildings, pause for food and choose how far to continue towards Lady Hill. This is an outdoor introduction to the town, not an admission ticket to every building passed along the way.

Shorten the route whenever you like. Check current street works and crossings, especially before adding the uphill Lady Hill section.

Tickets and booking: No ticket is needed for the public-street walk. Individual attractions, refreshments and parking are separate. Follow local diversions rather than an old leaflet where routes have changed.
Access and getting around: Most of the centre has paved routes, but crossings, gradients and temporary works affect the walk. Lady Hill is an optional uphill extension; choose a route that fits your mobility.

Visiting with children: Give children a few details to spot and keep the route short enough for their attention. A park stop can work better than insisting on the entire heritage circuit.
