Gyllyngvase Beach
Make room for a stretch of sand on Falmouth’s bay side, away from the working harbour. Gyllyngvase works as a short sea-view pause or a longer beach visit, with Queen Mary Gardens directly behind it. The tide and weather determine how much space and shelter you find.
A beach visit does not have to include swimming. Check the day’s conditions and patrol flags; choose a shore walk or café pause when the sea is unsuitable.

- The beach has no ordinary admission fee; parking, food and equipment hire cost separately. Patrols are seasonal and conditions can alter them. Check local signs for dog restrictions, tide and any temporary beach notices.
- Access and getting around
- A sloping access route leads towards the beach, but the sand itself can be difficult for ordinary wheels. Access Cornwall lists a hire sand chair through the café: confirm availability in advance. Toilets and accessible parking are nearby; check current facilities rather than relying on beach access alone.

- Keep children within close reach near the water and choose a beach session that leaves energy for the walk back uphill. RNLI patrol dates for 2026 are 16 May–27 September, normally 10am–6pm. Swim between red-and-yellow flags when patrolled and follow lifeguard advice.
