Tickets and booking: Buy admission for a confirmed opening day. Advance online discounts normally require booking by midnight the previous day; same-day tickets have different pricing. Members have their own free-entry arrangements. Café refreshments and any special-event terms are separate; opening hours vary seasonally.
Access and getting around: The keep has steps and spiral stairs. There is limited accessible parking within the grounds and a drop-off point at the gates; the main car park is a different approach. Accessible toilets are listed. Contact the site about the barracks lift, current exhibition access and the route that suits your equipment.

Visiting with children: There are lawns for an outdoor pause but no adventure playground. Keep children close around historic defences and allow adults to choose whether the keep stairs suit the group. Bring a layer for the exposed headland and check the event calendar before promising a demonstration.
