Brodie Castle and Estate

Plan a visit to Brodie for the castle’s rooms and collections, then choose how much of the estate to explore. The house, Playful Garden and wider grounds have different admission and seasonal arrangements, so you can tailor the outing rather than assuming one ticket covers an identical experience all year. Brodie is outside Forres and needs a separate journey.

Tickets and booking: Check the current calendar: ordinary castle visits run through October, with events-only access in winter. Guided tours generally last about an hour; some Saturday hours allow self-guided visits. The Playful Garden is closed November–February. Confirm the exact date, tickets and parking before travelling.
Access and getting around: The castle ground floor is accessible with assistance, but do not assume access to every historic room. Buggies are not admitted inside. The Playful Garden is listed as fully accessible, with suitable pond and woodland paths for wheelchairs and scooters. Accessible toilets and parking are provided.

Visiting with children: The outdoor Playful Garden can be the main family interest, with a castle tour added only if the children will enjoy its format. Check the garden’s seasonal opening and weather conditions, and leave time for food and play.
