FORRES GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Gardens and play close to the High Street / FORRES

Grant Park

Take time among Grant Park’s gardens and seasonal planting, or give children a playground break close to the centre of Forres. The park makes a flexible pause between more structured visits, with seating and open space rather than another ticket or tour. Paths also lead towards Cluny Hill, but climbing the hill is a separate choice.

Before you go

Keep the playground and gardens as the plan if you want an easygoing stop; do not assume the woodland climb is part of a level park circuit.

The practical details

Where to find it
East of Forres High Street, with access from Victoria Road
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
The public park does not require an attraction ticket. Organised events and community-run sports facilities may have separate arrangements. Flowers and displays change with the season.
Access and getting around
Use the established park paths and choose a route suited to your group. The adjoining Cluny Hill paths climb and have different terrain. The council lists seating and parking; check individual facilities rather than assuming every sports area is open for casual use.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
The playground has a range of climbing, swinging and balancing equipment. Allow unhurried play time and a snack, checking the equipment and weather on arrival. Community sports facilities are separate from the public playground.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
