Low Parks Museum

Explore South Lanarkshire’s history through the museum’s displays, including the story of the Cameronians regiment. The collection is a useful introduction to Hamilton before looking at the surviving landmarks of the former palace landscape. Ordinary exhibitions are free, while concerts and organised events follow their own programme.

The museum and Hamilton Mausoleum have very different access arrangements. The museum’s ramps and lifts do not mean the separate mausoleum tour is wheelchair accessible.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary exhibition entry is free. Current opening is Tuesday–Saturday, with last admission before closing. Special performances and activities have separate charges or bookings; café service ends earlier than museum opening.
Access and getting around: The operator lists level main access, ramps and lifts to all museum areas, dedicated parking and a wheelchair available. Some areas have low lighting. Discuss any particular requirements with reception; assistance dogs are welcome.

Visiting with children: Choose a few displays around the group’s interests rather than expecting children to follow every part of the military collection. Check current family activities separately, since a workshop or club may need a paid ticket.
