You can focus on the displays that interest you without having to match the timetable of a guided party, although organised events have their own arrangements. The mausoleum offers a very different interior. Its tour is booked and paid through the museum, operates only on selected dates and is explicitly unsuitable for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended even though you are visiting inside. Confirm the meeting point and route before paying; being comfortable in the museum does not establish that the mausoleum will suit. The crypt and acoustics may also affect whether it is the right choice for someone sensitive to enclosed or resonant spaces. For a performance-led outing, use the Town House programme and book seats appropriate to your needs. Its upper circle is excluded from the otherwise level or lift-served access described by the operator, so resolve that choice with the box office in advance. Allow time from your parking or station to Cadzow Street and check the end time before committing to return transport. Chatelherault is not a complete indoor replacement for a wet park day: the lodge has limited opening days and much of the attraction is the outdoor landscape. Racing is also an outdoor spectator event despite the presence of bars and some covered areas. For a shorter rainy visit, choose the museum galleries you most want to see, or arrive specifically for the booked tour or show rather than adding an exposed detour between them.
